The nature trails - hiking and learning
Hiking and learning about nature and its inhabitants at the same time? That's possible.
There are so-called nature trails in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis,
which are particularly popular with children.
Here is an extract.
Fisser Gonde nature trail
The Fisser Gonde above the Möseralm is a very special nature trail. If you want to complete this wonderful nature trail, you should plan to walk for around one and a half hours.
The Fisser Gonde is very easy to reach.
The blue gondola takes you first to the Möseralm.
The themed trail begins directly at the mountain restaurant of the same name. First you cross a small fallow.
An entrance gate takes you directly to the Fisser Gonde nature trail.
Here we go.
An attractive circular trail awaits you with a total of 25 stations dedicated entirely to the Fisser Gonde natural monument (protected since 22 July 1978).
The stations are designed in different and entertaining ways.
Partly educational, partly playful, partly interactive. So nobody will be bored.
Quite the opposite.
Wildlife trail to Frommes Alp
A visit to the Frommes Alp is a special day out for the whole family and should definitely not be missing from your holiday hiking programme. The red cable car - the Schönjochbahn - takes you up to the middle station in comfort.
A digital search and puzzle game with AR interactions invites you on an exciting journey of discovery
into the world of native wild animals.
Adventurers of all ages can experience birds of prey and other animals up close and learn fascinating facts along the way. Interactive learning stations along the trail invite you to explore,
and if you stay alert, you can even earn a gamekeeper's diploma.
The route leads from the Fisser Kraft- & Sinnesweg to the Frommes Alp and combines nature experience
with playful knowledge.
Hiking with children on the Murmeltiersteig in Serfaus
The "Murmeltiersteig" in Serfaus is another educational trail and also an alpine circular hike at over 2,000 metres above sea level. This educational trail is suitable for families with older children who can manage hikes of up to four hours. A narrow path leads from Lazid - at 2,350 metres above sea level - over the "Scheid" to the Furgler See lake. The small mountain lake, which is located around halfway along the route, is an inviting place to linger. The perfect place for a proper mountaineering picnic.
The route then continues over the Plansegg to the Serfauser Komperdell (approx. 1,900 metres above sea level).
Along the way you will find information boards that provide information about the life of the marmots.
There you can hear the animals whistling, see countless entrances to their burrows and if you watch carefully, you are sure to spot marmots playing or lazing on one of the countless stones near the path. Back at Komperdell, you can take the gondola and/or hiking bus back to the hotel in comfort.
Another, shorter nature trail on the Serfauser Komperdell is the "Blumensteig". It is also designed as a circular trail and is well signposted. Information boards tell you about the various flowers that grow here on the Komperdell - many of which are protected and are special features of our unspoilt mountain world.
