Holidays with pregnant women

Going on holiday while pregnant is no longer a problem these days. You just have to pay attention to a few little things.

Are you pregnant? Congratulations! And no, don't worry, you don't have to miss out on your well-deserved holiday. But how do you go on holiday just before giving birth?
Babymoon is a travel trend that has developed strongly in recent years. There are more and more specialised babymoon hotels for parents-to-be. Nowadays, being pregnant and travelling are no longer mutually exclusive. If you pay attention to a few things, you can also really enjoy your holiday in Tyrol, Austria as a pregnant woman. We at the Baby and Children's Hotel Laurentius know how to do this and are happy to help you.

Enjoy your holiday "despite" pregnancy

Pregnancy always means change - both physically and emotionally.
A holiday is the ideal time to come to terms with the new phase of your life, to review your own wishes and ideas and to become aware of the situation.
The peace and quiet. The time to breathe. The power of nature.
All of these things will help and support you during your pregnancy.

By the way:
Gentle exercise has been proven to be helpful during labour. Walks in the fresh air and regular swimming have always been recommended by gynaecologists and midwives.

The right hotel for pregnant women

Anyone who comes to us in Fiss can be sure of one thing: we look after our guests.
This principle applies at Haus Laurentius not only when it comes to the cleanliness of the rooms or the facilities for parents and children, but above all when it comes to food. Our kitchen team knows which foods are best suited to pregnant women.

Food intolerances and allergies are also not unknown to us.
Our chef will take the time to fulfil your wishes. So you don't have to worry and can enjoy the Laurentius pampering board to the full.

Going on holiday pregnant? What to take with you?

General:

  • Please do not travel alone, but make sure that someone accompanies you
  • The second trimester (14th to 27th week) is considered the ideal time to travel
  • Listen to your body and ask yourself early enough whether you are fit enough for travelling
  • Before travelling, think about what you want to take with you. It's often the little things like your favourite pillow or blanket that make you feel cosy and protected
  • Please make sure you get the OK from your gynaecologist

On arrival:

  • It is generally advisable to avoid long journeys
  • Always takes breaks in between
  • If the journey does take longer, support stockings are very helpful
  • A trolley is easy to move around, but please avoid carrying suitcases
  • Please always have enough to drink with you

Important documents and further information:

  • Mother-child passport
  • E-Card or insurance card
  • Important telephone numbers (e.g. from your own gynaecologist) to be prepared in the event of an emergency and to be able to communicate quickly
  • Travel first-aid kit: it is best to discuss with your gynaecologist what you absolutely must take with you. Magnesium is recommended. It helps with muscle cramps and premature labour

On site:

  • Just let your mind wander, we'll take care of you
  • We have several children ourselves and have accompanied many pregnant women on their holidays
